New Niagara-on-the-Lake Venues for Corporate Events in 2026: Stone Eagle Winery and The Clayfield

Two venues opened in Niagara-on-the-Lake in the past year that change what a corporate group can do there. Stone Eagle Winery opened in November 2025 with a ballroom for up to 220 guests and a vineyard terrace for up to 200. The Clayfield, part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, opened on September 17, 2026 with 102 rooms and suites and about 5,400 square feet of meeting space. Together they let a group of 150 to 220 people meet, stay and hold a gala dinner in wine country.

We produced a two-day program for about 200 guests in Niagara-on-the-Lake in October 2026, with the gala dinner at Stone Eagle and our team staying at The Clayfield. This guide covers capacities, room layouts, what each venue suits, and what we learned on the ground.

‍

Key Takeaways

  • Stone Eagle Winery has six private event spaces, with capacities from 12 to 220 guests. The 220-guest ballroom connects to a 200-guest outdoor terrace.
  • The Clayfield has 102 rooms and suites and four meeting rooms. Its main room, Vintner's Hall, seats 229 for a banquet or 305 theatre style.
  • Pair them for a multi-day program: sessions and rooms at the hotel, the gala dinner at the winery.
  • Plan 4 to 12 months out for a full-service retreat. Full-service retreats with The Idea Hunter start at $35,000.
  • Our venue and hotel sourcing is free for corporate events of $50,000 and up.

Why Are Corporate Groups Looking at Niagara-on-the-Lake Again?

Niagara-on-the-Lake has always had the wineries. What held corporate groups back was modern rooms and meeting space in one place, and the past 12 months added both. When we reviewed 124 on Queen as a corporate retreat venue, we noted the town's limited modern accommodation and updated venues. Stone Eagle and The Clayfield answer that directly.

The setting is the draw. Niagara-on-the-Lake has 39 wineries producing 422 VQA-approved wines, and the growing season runs April to October, according to VQA Ontario's 2025-26 regional sheet. The Clayfield's event sales kit puts Toronto Pearson International Airport 90 minutes away and Niagara-on-the-Lake's regional airport 15 minutes away, which matters when guests fly in from other offices.

"Niagara-on-the-Lake always had the wineries and the setting. What held corporate groups back was modern rooms and meeting space under one roof. The Clayfield fixes much of that, and Stone Eagle adds a ballroom for 220 guests with a vineyard terrace."

What Does Stone Eagle Winery Offer Corporate Groups?

Stone Eagle Winery is a new estate winery at 2080 Niagara Stone Road with six private event spaces holding 12 to 220 guests, built for gala dinners and client events. It opened in November 2025 and comes from the family behind Two Sisters Vineyards, with sisters Melissa Marotta-Paolicelli and Angela Marotta as co-proprietors. The Globe and Mail reported a 5,575-square-metre building (about 60,000 square feet) and an estimated $40 million investment, based on reports to the town council.

What We Learned Producing a Gala Dinner at Stone Eagle

Stone Eagle suits a seated dinner of about 150, and the details that decide the night need to be settled with the venue early and in writing. Our gala was the second night of a two-day program for about 200 guests, with roughly 150 seated for dinner. These are the points we would confirm first on any winery gala.

  • Confirm what the venue supplies and what you bring in. On our program the venue supplied the dining and cocktail tables. Chairs, charger plates, glassware, flatware, linens and florals came in through our rental, linen and floral partners, all working from our floor plan.
  • Load AV in the day before. Our AV team set up a day early. That freed the event day for florals, decor and sound checks.
  • Get special effects approved in writing. Our saxophonist offered a fire saxophone as well as a crystal-finished one. Plan for the standard version unless the venue clears the fire act in writing.
  • Write a rain plan for the terrace. Rain was forecast for our dates, so our operations team built a weather plan before load-in. It did not rain.
  • Confirm the green room and performer meals. Both belong on the run of show with a time and a location.
  • Build in travel time for Toronto suppliers. Several of our suppliers came from the Greater Toronto Area. Delivery windows and pickup runs went into the run of show with set times.

The entertainment followed the shape of the evening: an acoustic duo for the first night's welcome reception, then a strolling saxophonist, an event host who ran team games, and a DJ at the gala. A photographer covered the gala.

"The room does a lot of the work for you at Stone Eagle. The planning is in the details: who sets the chairs, when AV loads in, and what happens to the terrace if it rains."

What Does The Clayfield Offer Corporate Groups?

The Clayfield is a 102-room boutique hotel at 18 Clayfield Commons that opened on September 17, 2026, with four meeting rooms totalling about 5,400 square feet. It is part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt and was designed by Montreal-based Sid Lee Architecture, according to Hyatt's opening announcement. Vintner's Hall also seats 190 classroom style at 18-inch tables. Amphora is on the second floor and divides into two rooms. Barrique also divides in two. The Pressroom is a permanent boardroom for 16.

Rooms, Dining and Wellness

  • 102 rooms and suites: 33 king rooms, 24 double queen rooms, 40 two-bedroom suites and 5 one-bedroom suites, with 7 accessible rooms. The suites have kitchenettes, which suits multi-night stays.
  • Dining: Terrain has an 80-seat dining room, a 25-seat lobby bar and a chef's table. The hotel also offers in-house event catering and can arrange off-site catering at partner wineries.
  • The rooftop: a rooftop terrace with vineyard views for receptions and breaks between sessions.
  • Wellness: a full-service spa with six treatment rooms, a sauna and a steam room, with private group bookings available.
  • Practical details: complimentary parking and electric vehicle charging on site.

The 40 two-bedroom suites matter for room planning. A group of 200 will either share suites or need a second hotel, so settle the room plan before you sign the gala venue.

How Do You Pair Stone Eagle and The Clayfield for a Two-Day Program?

Base the group at The Clayfield for meetings and rooms, then move to Stone Eagle for the gala dinner on the final night. The hotel's largest room seats 305 theatre style for the plenary, and the winery's ballroom holds up to 220 guests, so the two match well for groups of 150 to 220.

Ask both venues for floor plans before you sign, so seating, AV and decor can be laid out for each room. Plan coach transfers between the hotel and the winery, and put the pickup and return times on the run of show. If the program includes a team activity, our guide to hosted team building games lists the group size, run time and venue needs for each format.

Which Other Venues Should Be on Your Shortlist?

Stone Eagle and The Clayfield are the newest options, not the only ones. The established hotels in Old Town, including Pillar and Post, the Prince of Wales and Queen's Landing, all host corporate meetings and can carry overflow rooms for a larger group. These earlier guides cover venues we have used or reviewed:

‍

Picked a Venue? Here Is What Decides Whether a Wine Country Event Works

A wine country program succeeds or fails on logistics between venues. Three things decide it: how guests move between the hotel and the winery, how suppliers from Toronto reach a site outside the city on time, and what happens if the weather turns. Each one belongs on the run of show with a name and a time beside it.

This is the work we do on every multi-venue program. If Niagara-on-the-Lake is on your list, our venue sourcing team can check dates and room blocks at both venues, and our corporate retreat team can build the program around them. We have planned and produced corporate events for more than 23 years, with more than 220 events a year.
